Episode 04: The Purpose of Life Is To Question Yourself

Who are you?

I am a Classical Dancer, Singer, Teacher and Founder of the Har Sukh Performing Arts School.

How do you define Purpose?

Not everyone who is born realizes their purpose. To realize one’s purpose is the most difficult thing. To realize one’s purpose is like comparing it to the enlightenment of the sages and the psychics. Most of the population of this world lives without purpose because the common man’s purpose is materialism, consumerism, wealth and the fulfillment of desires.

This life is itself is an instruction book in that everyday brings upon an event on your plate. You have to unflinchingly look at that event because that event will change you. These aren’t the happy events; these are the ones of pain and suffering that will change you. If you are open to questioning why these events happened to you, this will lead to self awareness. Only then you will come to the truth of who you are.

Out of all of the philanthropy in this world, if a person realizes their spiritual self that will be the greatest work. The first act of giving is to yourself. The first act of forgiving is for yourself. The first act of acceptance is of yourself. The first love you give is to yourself. You have to be selfish. You have to look at yourself and you have to heal yourself.

Who helped you in achieving your Purpose?

I reached a point in my grief and pain in which my expectations weren’t being fulfilled and the cry came out of my heart that now I want to feel a love that doesn’t give me pain any longer. As soon as that aspiration came out of my heart, I was shown people who spoke of the soul and consciousness. My purpose was not of the mind, it was of the heart. There was something missing in my heart. My heart said that I want to meet people who talked about the spirit. When I met that first person, I cried. My soul cried because I found someone who was talking to my heart.

What is your advice on achieving purpose for the youth?

I wish that every person on this earth would realize that they are fine just the way they are. They don’t have to be ambitious or competitive. Even if they don’t have any skills, they are fine as they. are No one is uneducated because your whole “university” is within yourself. The real education is self awareness.
