Episode 01: The Purpose Of Life Is To Know Yourself and Benefit Others
Who are you?
I am an artist, farmer, fashion designer, and speaker.
How do you define purpose?
The purpose is one. It is to find out about all of your strengths given to you. Then you develop those strengths into skill sets in order to benefit people. You benefit people first and then people will benefit you. And everything around you benefits you.
How did you discover your purpose?
You have to be broken many times. When you break and then when you join, it strengthens your wounds. We are all connected, it is all of these distractions that disconnect us. If you live in a state of shukar (gratitude), you are leading to something very peaceful. You start leading and stop following.
Who had an influence on your life?
People say that people change you. They don’t change you, they connect you to yourself. One of the most beautiful souls that I was lucky to be with was my Dada (grandfather). He was a beautiful man and he loved me without understanding, without judging or without condition. I learned more from his death than from his time alive.
Has your purpose changed over time?
The purpose stays the same, which is to understand yourself and to benefit others. How you do it changes all the time. Sometimes I am a farmer, sometimes I am painter, and sometimes I am fashion designer. Sometimes I am father, sometimes I am friend. We are all actors given different roles to perform, but we are all part of the same movie.
What advice do you have for the younger generation?
The younger generation inspires me. They are so brutally honest that sometimes it is painful. We need to trust them more than trusting our ways in how we lived our lives. They will unite us and we need to unite them. They just need direction; they do not know what to do with their honesty. Keep on resurrecting new ways and keep on restoring old ways.
What do you think is missing in the world right now?
I am missing in the world. Each of one of us is missing. If we take up our responsibilities, we would not be missing. The day I find myself, everything will be fine.
What are you living for at this moment?
I am living for the next breath to catch. That is the biggest blessing. My awareness of my every breath keeps me alive.
How do you want people to remember you?
Some people do not leave they stay. If you benefited anyone, then you stay. If there is only soul remembering you, that means that you are still alive.
